A practical solution to help people survive harsh winter conditions
The project provides heated vests powered by standard power banks, allowing people to stay warm for many hours even when homes have little or no heating.
The WARM UA initiative was launched by volunteers in 2022 as a practical solution to help people survive harsh winter conditions in frontline regions.
All vests are manufactured in Ukraine at local production facilities, which allows the project not only to respond quickly to humanitarian needs but also to support Ukrainian industry during wartime.
Current Demand
Communities in frontline regions continue to face severe winter conditions, unstable heating, and damaged energy infrastructure. Because of this, the demand for heated vests remains extremely high.
Local authorities and communities have already submitted requests for the following number of heated vests with power banks:
Sumy Region — 47,000 units
Donetsk Region — 78,000 units
Kharkiv Region — 70,000 units
Total current demand: 195,000 heated vests
This reflects the urgent humanitarian need to support people living in frontline communities during winter.
Production Timeline
It is important to note that preparation for this project must begin well in advance.
Each community and settlement provides lists of people who will receive the heated vests. These lists include a wide range of sizes, from small children’s sizes to very large adult sizes. Because of this, production requires careful planning and coordination.
The full preparation process — including collecting data from communities, organizing logistics, and manufacturing the vests — takes at least five months.
Winter temperatures in Ukraine usually begin to drop significantly starting in November, which makes early preparation essential to ensure that people receive warmth before the cold season begins.
Preparation must begin in spring to ensure people stay warm in winter.

One support set consists of a heated vest and a power bank, allowing a person to stay warm even without stable heating.
